This website has been established by the former pupils of the

Ilford Boys branch of Clark’s College

located at 83 Cranbrook Road, Ilford, Essex

since 1915 (and prior to this at Forest Gate), and which has maintained an active Association throughout this time when the school was open, and since the years of its closure in 1974.

The website has been on-line since November 2007 and development has continued to its present layout. It is envisaged that it will be held in the present format to enable former Ilford Boys to catch up with news and regular activities arranged by the Association’s committee.

Some very sad news.
The passing of our President

Geoffrey was born on 30th January 1938 and died on 13th February 2025 aged 87, while sitting watching television.
He read Geography at Reading University, and after a year’s Teacher Training, started teaching at a Grammar School in Shoreham., Sussex in 1961. He joined the Ilford branch of Clark’s College in 1965/6, becoming Head Master in 1974/5 until that branch closed the following year. He then transferred as Head Master to the Bromley Branch of Clark’s, and was there till that branch closed in 1988. In 1988 he began working for British Rail as a Customer Services Administrator until 2003 when he retired.
He has attended virtually every Old Clarkonian Dinner since at least the 1970’s, was elected Chairman for 1987, and since 2012 has been our Patron.
He is survived by his sisters Rosemary and Elizabeth and their extended families, and will be sorely missed both by them and by members of the Old Clarkonian Association.
Rest in Peace

The funeral will be held on Thursday 20th March 2025 at 11.00am in Reading Minster, St Mary the Virgin. Reading, Berkshire RG1 2HX.

Our next Annual Dinner - the 89th - will be held on

May 3rd 2025

Stifford, Grays, Essex, RM16 5UE
